Yum Installation in Centos

Hi Friends

I have configured yum in Centos 5 and edited the file in /etc/yum.repo.d/CentOS.media

[CentOS]
name=CentOS
baseurl=file:///var/ftp/pub/CentOS
gpgcheck=1
enabled=0
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

After that when i typed yum install nfs* -y

i am getting the error

Loaded plugins:fastest mirror
Loading mirror speed from cached hosfile
Setting up install process
Nothing to do

Friends Help me what to do

That itself doesn't set up a repo. Did you run 'createrepo'?

CentOS clearly labels its repo sources like "base", "updates", etc, etc. Name yours "local" or something to distinguish it from other sources.

Are you sure this should be "0" and not "1"?

When troubleshooting use available command line switches and error / verbose outut to your advantage. Isolate the repo using "--disablerepo=\* --enblerepo=local" switch, confine behavior using the "--disableplugin=\*" switch, and set "-d 10" (or "-e 10") to get verbose output.

*forumbala88, is this BTW your other account: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...uxtech-689118/ ?

to add the install dvd is very out of date
even the current centos 5.9
and for a " off line"( not connected to the internet) centos install just use the dvd , but remember that is is "out of date "

I asked you three questions and made two suggestions.
You replied to just one question.
Please read and answer more carefully.
