YUM --import public.gpg.key

i have a fresh install of FC3 and im trying to run yum,

when i go to do updates

yum update

i get the thing about needing to install keys and it tells me to use the following command.

rpm --import public.gpg.key

And it returns an error

Import read failed

Any clue on what i should do?

thanks

$ up2date

After it asks you for the keys, accept. Then shut it down and run yum again.

Try
Code:

#rpm --import /usr/share/doc/rpm-4.2.1/RPM-GPG-KEY
Then run YUM aftrwards.

I meant shut down the program, not the computer. Sorry I should have been more clear :-\

Since when do you have to reboot linux anyway? I once installed 488 packages and didn't have to reboot not even once.

Where and when does the computer hang on you? Is it just random?

one key, Scroll lock...

when i was switching between computers if u don't make sure scroll lock is off after you switch from computer to computer it will lock everything up.

Did you try the method in my previous post, that would have solved your problem.
