yum failure with fedora 10 upgrade
Hello everyone.
I have been using Fedora to run my Compaq nx7300 for about 2 years. First I used Fedora 7, then I recently upgraded to Fedora 10. When I try to use yum update, the program reports a HTTP 404 error: site not found. I then went to check the files in the yum.repos.d directory and found that they still contained the Fedora 7 addresses. I then changed the addresses in fedora.repo, fedora-updates-testing.repo and fedora-updates.repo and then did: yum clean all yum update The yum update command now gets a little farther into the process, but still terminates: updates-debuginfo/primary_db | 377 kB 00:00 http://ftp-stud.hs-esslingen.de/pub/...ta/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-2, 'Name or service not known')> Trying other mirror. http://archive.fedoraproject.org/pub...ta/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-2, 'Name or service not known')> Trying other mirror. Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: updates-testing-debuginfo. Please verify its path and try again Is there a way to load from the installation DVD the correct files for the yum.repos.d directory? I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks and best wishes, Mike |
Why updates-testing? disable that
Import keys Fedora 7 to Fedora 10 is possibly not supported...Need to check that up. post repo data |

Dear Amani thanks for the reply. How do I disable updates-testing ? I renamed the files in /etc/yum.repos.d but I still crash when the livna update is attempted.

See http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...a-f10.html#yum
and http://www.my-guides.net/en/content/view/125/26/1/2/ Basically #su #yum --disable_repo=repo-name |
