I am running Fedora Core 3 and its the same old problem with Yum again. I am unable to install/update/upgrade to anything. for example, when I type, yum install apt, the following is what I get.

I am guessing the problem is with the conf (from all the other posts). But still, I don't want to mess it up, being a newbie. I tried replacing the conf from the fedorafaq.org for FC3 but I have the same problem.

Support for FC3 was dropped several years ago(06?). There have been no updates since that time and there will be no further updates. Current supported versions of Fedora are F9 and F10. One month after F11 is released(end of this month?) support for F9 will be dropped.

there are some fedora3 repos in the archives BUT NO UPDATES since April `06 .

fedpra 11 will be out in about a month
