Unhappy Yum


hi,
i am new to linux
i am not able to understand the concept of Yum utility.
if any one can guide me about how to use Yum to install any software or program.

Since you are new to linux, I would suggest using a graphical version of yum. There are a few out there. yumex is the easiest to me.

So:
yum install yumex

You don't mention the distro you are using, but yumex is probably available.
