You tube
 
I just want to be able to play videos on You tube, not down load them. I have it on my home page and can play the days video put when I search for one I can get it up but can't play it!. I think I have to install something put what!!!. I am not a computer buff so an idiot's guide would be much appreciated.Many thanks,Margaret MacDermott.

You probably haven't got the Flash plugin installed. This page might help:

Do you have Flash...

If you are using Firefox, there is a Flash plug-in that you should be able to download from your distribution repository or from Mozilla itself if you google for it. Try the first first.

The flash player is indeed in the Ubuntu repository. If you already have it and it is not working then I would speculate that you are using 64 bit Linux. The last time I ran 64 bit Linux, earlier this year, I could not get Flash to work. I'm back to using 32 bit Linux specifically for this reason.

I watch YouTube and other multimedia web sites all the time. The only thing I cannot get to work is NetFlix streaming movies. It requires Microsoft Silverlight. (blaggards!)

Minitube works a treat for 64 bit. Download it from software dentre

I have managed to install the Adobe flash player by going into the "Administration" section on the computer and following the instructions. I can now play the videos(hurrah) but I can't get it on full screen.Please guys- help, I am an old lady.Margaret Mac.
