You have new mail (???)

I recently installed Red Hat 8, and every once in a while when I'm at the prompt it tells me that I have new mail. Where can I check this mail? I assume it's just some kind of system messages...

Also, I remember a program called mailto from a long time ago. It doesn't seem to come with Red Hat, or if it does, I'm wondering how to be able to use it since it's so handy.

Thanks...
