I am running a Dell Dimension 8300 with Ubuntu 9.04, Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz, GeForce FX 5200 (APG) and initially set up my dual monitors with little trouble. I was unable to save my settings in X Server settings- with the fail to parse error.
When I restarted my computer my settings were not saved and I am back to 1 screen. I have surfed various links that seem to describe the same problem however at this point I fear I may have deleted or modified a file. Very frustrating I need instructions for how to start from the top and then manually modify the xconfig file to include dual monitors. Also I would like the information to be saved to the xconfig file. |
Here is a thread in ubuntu forums dealing with the parse error and a solution
