Yast Time clock OK, but Desktop is off by 6 hours
Yast time is Correct, have nntp running on boot, Computer time set for Local, not UTC. Time on Desktop is anywhere from 5 to 7 hours off. I turn off the machine at night when I am done and turn it back on in the morning and that is when I discover that it is off, and I have to go to Yast and click on the accept button to reset the time. I am on a dial-up system, don't have Broadband out in the sticks.
I have tried to set to UTC, but appears to be a universal problem, Any ideas? This is a Suse 10.1 system.
I'd suggest running ntpdate every time you connect. Not sure how this
is done in SuSE, there has to be a script that gets executed once the
connection is established.
