YaST online update error in enterprise 9
PLease be patient with me as this is the first time that i am using a thread and don't understand too much about suse.
All right, here goes.
I installed suse enterprise 9.0 on a laptop for testing purposes and wanted to do online updates.(Wanted to update the kernel so that ACPI could work correctly as my CPU fan stops working.) (I forced the fan to continually work in the BIOS.)
Please note that we have a domain which suse has not been joined to and never will be.I have specified the Proxy settings with a user name and password which has permissions to access the Net. DHCP enabled and no firewall enabled on the suse box.
I open a console, su to root and ran YaST.
I opened Online Update and left all as default.
All options are ticked and server specified where the updates are located.
then i get this option when it wants to connect to the server "signature check for patch info files failed.cannot load patch information"
Has anyone any clue as what could be the problem?
I went to "portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2005/07/rdassen_you_lost_keys.html" website and followed some of their instructions which said that i could have a signature problem.I followed their steps and it had no result.
