Yahoo chat client
Hello, I downloaded a yahoo chat client called "Gyach"and i couldnt find now exe or no set up file for it............If anyone uses a yahoo chat client that u can voice with i would like to know where i can get it at and how to set it up.
Im using RH9/mozilla. Also, I frequent the yahoo chat rooms and if anyone knows and been in these chat room there are punks in there who boot ppl all the time with these boot codes. I had a friend tell me that with linux there is a way you can monitor and grab incoming ip from these type of lamers that boot ppl......does anyone know if this is true? Im not to much concerned about the booting than i am of getting a secure and dependable yahoo chat client. I am a newbie so any detailed info would be greatly appreciated ....... thanks in Advanced ~ |
I would suggest maybe you using GAIM or possibly the Yahoo Messenger that Yahoo makes for Linux. I don't know of any that support the voice protocol, etc.
Also, LQ.org and none of the members will associate or help others in booting others off a network, chat client network or so on.... This is one of the rules we posted here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/rules.php Regards. |
BOoting
I think maybe you misunderstood my question ....so let me clarify it .....Im not into booting nor do i want to boot anyone or attack anyone on any chat service.........My question is ......is there anything out there besides a firewall that will monitor incoming packets or does RH9 have a built in service that will do that for you if a BOOTER decides to try to boot me....!!! I have been booted and attacked on yahoo and I wanted to know is there anything out there or does linux have some type of protection to monitor incoming packets and grab the attackers IP addy. BTW i read the rules.....thanks

In the security forum, there is a good thread that has tons of links provided by unSpawn which I'm sure you will find useful possibly in finding a tool to do this. Regards.

For voice and WebCam support for yahoo messenger you can try gyach :
1. Download http://www.politicalcrossfire.com/te...nstall.tar.bz2 , and save it to your home directory (important!). 2. Run these commands in the terminal, in sequential order: Code: tar -xjf gyach-install.tar.bz2 cd gyach sudo ./install |
