Xubuntu sound not working

I have xubuntu installed on my HP pavillion dv6000 and the sound is not working on anything. Not with just a CD or on the internet.
Any suggestions with this problem?
thanks

Go here and follow the instructions. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...ht=sound+howto

This will fix most sound problems, and you will learn as you go. Post any specific problems you run in to.
