Xubuntu doesn't start
Can somebodey explain the following that came on to my screen ;
fsck from util-linus-ng217.2/deu/sda1 clean, 101455/7241728 files, 1008525/28941568 blocks Cannot shut down any more either, pls. help miramarcos |
fsck=file system check, which is performed after a certain number of boots & is performed before the drive or partition is mounted.The word clean means that there's no corruption I believe.

When did you see the message you have in your initial post? On boot? Other?
What method are you using to shutdown? Click the shutdown icon button, select shutdown? Can you restart? Do none of the options work? Were any changes made immediately prior to this happening? If so, what? |
Are you logged into a terminal?
Are you just not getting gdm? Quote:

problem Xubuntu
Dear members,
Thanks god after almost 3-4 hours the Acer shut down, I think you were right about power management settings, I've checked several things, so now in future I can hit the button on the keyboard (hope it doesn't happen again). I saw this message on booting and by hitting esc I got only the Xubuntu logo on my screen. Now I have plugged the battery loader again in and after a while I could log in again as user. But nothing was changed before this all happened. Glad it's solved. Thanks for your help, how long does disk check normally work by the way ? miramarcos |
