xterm window pop up question

Hi,

I have linux and windows box networked together. I am trying to pop up xterm in my xp box, but it is not working. I can ping it without any problem.

xterm XT error: Can't open display: 192.168.0.1

Do you have any idea?

Do I need to run any special software in windows? Or do I need to open any port? Please let me know.

Check out PuTTY, it allows you to log in to a GNU/Linux box from "Winders". I think that's a close as you're going to get to "pop up xterm in my xp box".

To find PuTTY, Google it -- it's generally the top of the list.

you can install a X server (for example: Keax) on your XP. Then you can export your x apps from linux to windows.
