Post xterm to start app with a specific size

HI,

I was trying to find some options in xterm where i cud specify the size of the xterm window to run it a fixed width and height.
The option that I found is "xterm -geometry width x height". I am able to open the window. But my main purpose to open the window is to run a program. Earlier I was running the program with the command "xterm -e AppPath", which use to open a new window with the application running.

But the width of the window was not wide enough.

Is there any solution to the possible query?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

Have you looked into adding the geometry option in your .bashrc file located at /home/user/.bashrc. With the parameters added to this file, you can customize the standard xterm window, even when you click it from your Desktop. These parameters would affect only the xterm window for your user.

Hope this helps you a bit.

Cheers

Well I am developing an application which in turn is starting a small process (this process starts in the xterm). If i change in the bash file then i have to change the bash file of every linux system where this app will be installed.
