Unhappy XP/Multiboot, RAID (80GBx2) & DVI - anyone?

After almost 2 yrs of waiting & research I finally got a (linux compatible) PC - I did'nt want to make Bill richer but my PC experience is limited so I need a multiboot system for a sharp learning curve & max possiblities (home office + artistic stuff, education, entertainment etc). I thought I knew what I was doing & tried to install user-friendly Mandy (9, or 8.2, or 8 etc) first (before I try installing Debian/Slackware & experimental stuff) but after the first/initial install question I get sweet FA/nothing - I've tried every option - but the right one, rats! Any pointers/assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Mother (RAID 0): Gigabyte GA-7VRXP (Promise 20276)
HD: Maxtor Viper 80Gb ATA133 x2
Monitor: Samsung152T LCD (&) Graphics: Leadtek G4 = DVI
WinXP preinstalled on first of 4 (40GB - RAID 0) partitions

Mandrake 9 (or 8.2) will not install on this PC & I do not know why. After the initial Mandrake splash screen none of the boot options (enter, F1 or F3 options) work. I have tried the Linux ATA RAID Howto option (linux noprobe) as well without success.

I do not know what to do next. Maybe there is a different RAID option for Mandrake or a special DVI option I am unaware of? Or maybe WinXP & NTFS are the root of the problem? Does anyone know what the problem is? Any ideas or suggestions would be useful.
