Xnest: Remote X-Server Configuration Problems
hello people.
My name is shina, and im looking for a way to configure my server's X server to be remotely accessible so that i have another option other than Webmin . My server runs redhat 9.0, so i went into /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf and edited the [xdmcp] to read Enable=true. But when i ran Xnest with Xnest :1 -query "server.ip.adress" Xnest starts, but only shows me a blank blue screen with a mouse cursor (big black "X"). after a while, in the terminal window i launched it from i get "XDM : too many retransmissions" . Nothing else happens . So what am i doing wrong? anybody? |
Modify /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config. Comment out the line DisplayManager.requestPort: 0 (add an ! at the beginning of the line)
Restart X Use ur client. XDMCP HOWTO |
