`Hello agian!
Working on getting XMMS 1.2.10 installed on Mandrake 9.2 and I have run into a bit of a snag. This is what the Konsole gives me:
[eek@eek xmms-1.2.10]$ ./configure
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr//bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for prefix by checking for xmms... /usr//bin/xmms
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.
I could use the rmp, though, I would really like to do it the via the Konsole, good learning experience I suppose.
Also, because this is my first encounter with Linux I have been doing some background reading as suggested to help in the endeavor; Can anyone suggest a textbook or so that would be a good starting point, say a college level introduction-ish?
Thanks,
Revenge.
