what distro are you running? there is more than likely a version of xmms on your install cds.

FireInTheDark 08-16-2004 05:40 PM

I'm using XMMS XMMS 1.2.10 (tar.gz): (http)

and i didn't got any xmms on the cd Mandrake 10.0

Peacedog 08-16-2004 05:54 PM

this says that if you have all the cds that you have at least xmms version 1.2.9

http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/features.php3

http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/features.php3#7

if you'd like the latest version, i believe that is 1.2.10, then you can go here

http://www.xmms.org/download.php

and dowload the source, or try getting the rpm as that's your distros package manager here

http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/se...mandrake&arch=

you should probably do some reading on urpmi, and setting it up, as it should handle most dependancies for you.
good luck.

You do get XMMS on the Mandrake CD's - it just doesn't install automatically. If you didn't use manual package selection during the install, you won't have it. You can install it from the Mandrake Control Centre. Go to 'install' and type XMMS in the search box, select the packages you want and it'll ask you for the CD's to install them.
You get version 1.2.9 as stated previously.
