XMMS does not load mp3

This is my first post here.

I've got a problem with my XMMS 1.2.10
when i try loading an mp3 nothing happens.
dunno what to do, I tryed to re-install the packages
but that didn't help at all.

Ive tryed to play mp3 in some other players
and it worked out just fine.

Please help me with my XMMS problem!

ok, think this is related to suse and licencing (Mp3 has an off licence) you will probably need to download the mp3 libs for XMMS. I expect there will be an rpm on yast for you. If not have a google, www.google.co.uk/linux

if that does not help try looking here:
http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=18000&hl=

specifically this bit:
Quote:
Search for:mp3
Install:lame
Search for:mad
Install: any file that has -mad in the name
I don't know which one does the trick but it worked for me
