xmms

Hello!

I have the following question:

When I tried to install xmms I got the message:

Quote:
The glib-config script installed by GLIB could not be found
*** If GLIB was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GLIB_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to glib-config.
configure: error: *** GLIB >= 1.2.2 not installed - please install first ***
I checked with rpm -q glib if glib is installed on my box. But although it's installed I couldn't find any directory containing glib-config script. What should I assign to GLIB_CONFIG? Is there any way to find out what PREFIX was used when glib was installed?

I'll be very greatfull if someone helps me!
Thanks.

glib-devel

Hi vs_optimist!

Did you install glib-devel package too? I think it is needed. Install it, and try again.

Do you need to build XMMS from source? It might just be easier to find an RPM for it..

Wink You're welcome

Dear vs_optimist!

You're welcome! If next time you get a message like "I can't find xyz-config", or you know that the package is installed but the prog still requires it, then simply install the -devel package. It helps always.
