Xlib problem
Hi,
I'm trying to install gtkwave - however when i type ./configure i see an error message about: checking for glib_config ... no checking for glib - version => 1.2.0 ... no . . . configure: error cannot find GLIB: is gtk-config in the path any thoughts how i get around this? |
install glib-devel.something.rpm
|
i've download what i think is the latest glib rpm...
I've went to package manager and filtered for glib, i got the following glib-1.2.10-10.i386.rpm glib2-2.2.1-1.i386.rpm glibc-2.3.2-11.9.i686.rpm glibc-common-2.3.2-11.9.i386.rpm glibc-devel-2.3.2-11.9.i386.rpm glibc-kernheaders-2.4-8.10.i386.rpm But when i do the configure i still get the following error checking for glib-config... no checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.0... no *** The glib-config script installed by GLIB could not be found *** If GLIB was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in *** your path, or set the GLIB_CONFIG environment variable to the *** full path to glib-config. configure: error: Cannot find GLIB: Is gtk-config in path? once installing the package, was the anything else i should have done? |
you're missing glib-devel-1.2.10-10.i386.rpm (assuming that it was that version of glib you're already running.

yep i downloaded that...
and clicked on it - the package manager opens and closes very quickly... So i tried it from the terminal.... [root@localhost root]# rpm -ivh glib-devel-1.2.10-10.i386.rpm but it has stayed like that for a good ten minutes? the rpm i guess is alright... -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 113483 Oct 22 18:33 glib-devel-1.2.10-10.i386.rpm |
anyone any further thoughts?
