LinuxQuestions.org - Xine DVD player

Ok I got XINE dvdplayer...the bin works....I see the application....i installed all these RPMs: curl-7.10.3-1.i386.rpm libxine1-1_cvs-031026.i686.rpm xine-ui-0.9.22cvs-031101.i586.rpm libdvdcss-1.2.8-1.network.i386.rpm
w32codec-0.52-1.i386.rpm

......I can't play any dvds......

So far all i've done is installed those RPMS....I got those instructions and downloads from http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/.....

BTW....in /dev I don't have a entry for dvdrom.....
and in the /etc/modules.conf I added the entry for DMA support...

I'm not sure, but try to link /mnt/dvdrom and /mnt/cdrom, I've read somewhere in this forum that it might work.

Yeah I just tried that worked like a charm

ln -s /dev/cdrom /dev/dvd

That did it....now lets try to tweak it..
