Xine and DVDs


Hi,

I'm trying to watch my new Hornblower DVD in SuSE 9.0 with Xine. Of course this doesn't work right away, because of the 'legal requirements.'
I tried to install a newer version of Xine with apt-get, but now there's no DVD-button next to the VCD, CD and VCDO buttons. I also installed a package called libdvdcss, but that didn't change anything really. I read something about a plugin for Xine called the Captains CSS plugin, but I couldn't find the proper RPM.

Can someone give me some clues on what to do? I want my Hornblower adventures!

I went through the exact same problem. What I did was completely remove the suse's xine and install another one, and its packages.

This is a nice resource on playing dvd's with xine:
