XFree86 Freezes when I test it...

Ok I just installed Gentoo and I was trying to install KDE I emrged and installed Xfree86 and I configured as per needed for my mouse. (LogitechMX500) and my keyboard (Using generic 104 PC US keyboard I actually have a Logitech Access Wireless keyboard) and I try startx to test it (as I do not want it to auto start until the kinks are worked out) and it keeps locking up after 30 seconds roughly. I can move my mouse around at first and click and roll the wheel just fine and then everything hard locks. When I try to run KDM it locks up almost instantly. The logs show nothing of use as far as I can tell. Any suggestions? All my searches really didn;t provide me with anything useful.

Well I am posting this from my windows install and I don't know how to make thre two see eachother. I didn't try without the mouse connected or the keyboard. Could it also be my video card? I have a 9800 Pro is there anythign special I need to do for that configuration?

mounted like so presuming you have usb mass storage set up in your kernel:

mount /dev/sda (or /dev/sda1 depending on how its partitioned) /mnt -tvfat

copy the files you want to /mnt then type:

umount /mnt

Ok Progress....mouse doesn;t seem to be the issue when i start KDM the mosue works but the keyboard doesn't. I have a Logitech Wireless Access Keyboard (Mouse is tethered however) Well sorta KDM works. Keyboard doesn't work I can move the mouse but nne of the buttons on the windows work either.....its really weird now....I assume its the keyboard.
