Cool Xfree86

I installed Mandrake 10.0 on an HP Pavilion xt926 with S3 Savagepro onboard video. Now X Server will not run becuase it is not the right card. I then make the next stupid mistake by turning off at startup XFREE86 so now I cannot get in and change the video card. Anyway I can start it back up?

Your xfree config file is located at
/etc/X11/xf86config-4
or
/etc/X11/xf86conf
I think that is what Mandrake uses. I haven't used MDk for a while
There are also CLI tools to help you config X.
xf86config
Xfree86 -configure
There are others

That S3 card, you'll may need to lessen the depth if you want to run 1024X768.

Mandrake also allows you to boot into recovery mode, watch for the prompt at start up.
