Hey im trying to install the Nvidia Drvers on my box which is running RH 7.3 when I try to Edit XF86Config-4 using gedit It says its readonly and in the permissions it tells me you have to be the owner to write,

How do I become the Owner to edit this file ?

Cool root

To edit this file just type this in a xterm console

[user@anything]$ su
password:*********************************************
[user@anything]$ /usr/bin/gedit

This will launh GEdit from root.

Then click open and go to the file and click open.
