xf86config

I recently installed Slackware 10 and all files apeared to be installed correctly but when i try to startx my screen goes black and nothing else happens.

i have tried typing in the command xf86config but get
~bash: xf86config: command not found
also i have gone to the dir /usr/X11R6/bin, but xf86config is not there.

im not sure if the file didn't get installed during the installation process (if so how do i install it) or there is something that i didn't do i that i was supposed to do.

Xfree86 is not included in Slackware, xorg is. Can you try xorgconfig, or xconfig?
