XDMCP font issue: Cannot convert string to type FontSet.
Hi all,
I'm evaluating a copy of Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES (RHEL4). I've followed some guides and have a thin client connecting via XDMCP using GDM. My issue is that I have an application that runs fine from the server console, but when I try to lauch the program from the thin client I get the following error: Cannot convert string "*medium-r-normal--14-*-*-*-c-*" to type FontSet. I have searched for solutions, but thus far haven't found any. One thing that I also noticed is that if I type xlsfonts -fn *medium-r-normal--14-*-*-*-c-* on the thin client I get xlsfonts: pattern "*medium-r-normal--14-*-*-*-c-*" unmatched. When I do the same command on the server console I get a listing of 15-20 fonts. How do I make these fonts available on my XDMCP session? I've read various xfs articles, but nothing seems to be working for me. Thanks in advance. |
