XDm Configuration

Hey,

I have recently installed Gentoo and got Xorg configured and my graphics card set up. I chose to set up xfce4 as my desktop and it runs perfectly. Now I am trying to set up XDM to start up when I boot up the computer as well as long me into xfce4. I have been able to get it to let me log into xdm on boot up but whenever I type in my login and password the screen just freezes with a grey background. So far I have added a "xfce4" file to /etc/X11/Sessions" and configured my /etc/rc.conf file so that xdm is my DisplayManager and xfce4 is my Xsession. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Thanks
Ted
