Xdisplay from linux to solaris

In Windows, i used exceed hummingbird software to connect to a solaris 2.8 server (like gui remote control - vnc type).

How can i do a similar setup from red hat 9 to solaris? (step-by-step please!)

ssh/telnet in, set the DISPLAY variable to the windows box (eg "export DISPLAY=windoze:0"), then launch your X apps.

K sorry didnt read your post fully.
Well if you're not running X apps then there's no need to use an X server software such as Hummingbird. Substitude windoze with the host name of your Linux box, make sure X server is listening on TCP/IP (can't remember if rh9 has this disabled by default, check the config file for your DM or /usr/X11R6/bin/startx) and remote hosts has permission to connect to it (run "xhost +<remote host>").
