X11 Restart

Well, this is really a Nobie's question, I use openSUSE 11.2 GNOME Environment , and I want to know that how can I restart my xserver ? when it's already running ???

Code:
# startx
xauth: creating new authority file /root/.serverauth.12692

Fatal server error:
Server is already active for display 0
If this server is no longer running, remove /tmp/.X0-lock
	and start again.

Please consult the The X.Org Foundation support
	 at http://wiki.x.org
 for help.
so I just want to restart the X-Windows server,
just like we restart the audio server by issuing :

su -c rcalsasound restart

just log out and when you get back to a login screen it'll have reloaded. That's if you're using a login manager on runlevel 5, which it sounds like you are. Or you can just zap the server, Ctrl + Alt + Backspace, if it's not disabled.
