X Windows Might not be comfigured right
Hi Everyone,
I installed Red Had Linux 6 on my old HP Pavilion (133 mhz, 16 mg of ram, 2 gig harddrive). I am not dual booting (I wiped Windows 95 from the system) and it automatically boots to X windows (Gnome). Well, what shows up on my screen is black & white with very poor dpi resolution. I might of entered the wrong info during the installation process about my video card and monitor. How can I change it so it can show color and an overall better view? Please explain it very simply since Linux is very new to me. Thanks for all the help!!! |
I don't know if RH 6 came with it, but you will want to open up a terminal (the icon that looks like an old computer screen) and type:
Xconfigurator That will help you to reconfigure your X. If not, try xf86config Cool |
