I have been messing with Linux a good amount for the last week or so, and havent come upon this problem yet (obviously) nor have a come across it on any forums!

I finally got into Fedora Core 6 after a few hours of figuring out how to fix it displaying out of frequency for my monitor. (Turns out all I had to do was switch kernels in the GRUB boot loader)Im all logged in, it works great! It says I have like 135 updates available... ok so I install. Bout 25 minutes later when it finishes, I reboot like it asks. But when I boot up, my monitor is flickering off for about 1 second in intervals of 4 seconds. K... THEN, it says X Server cant load. When it tried different setups, it goes out of frequency again. I tried on both Kernels, it just wont load.


Edit: XServer, not XWindow. Got confused.

Ok, well im just gonna reinstall and never update again

Although id like to find ONE guide that works on how to get 3d acceleration running on an ATI X1300 card.


All I do is play World Of Warcraft, I wanna get Linux playing it and ill be good

I you haven't reinstalled yet post your xorg.conf file.
It's in /etc/X11/
And the xserver has probably created a crash report - post that too if possible.
