X server crash
Hi all,
I'm running MDK 9.1 / Win 98 SE. I turned the PC off, using log out in KDE. The next time I started it up The X Server crashed. The message was ; failed to load "bitmap' failed to load "pcidata" I just reinstalled 4 days back. because of an x server crash, it was a different message that time. Any thoughts?? Thanks, Digger |
Got free disk space? X can fail if you haven't.
It would be helpful if you posted the XF86 log in full. |
Hi,
My disk space is as follows; ./ 2Gig Swap 765meg with 392 meg sdram usr 3 Gig home 1.4 Gig I'll shut down to get the full message. Digger |
I second JC's notion: post the content
of /var/log/XFree86.0.log And, while you're at it, add the output of: df -m Cheers, Tink |
Hi, The Message is;
Unable to load base modules exiting... X10 fatal 10 error 104 (connection reset by peer) on x server ";0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining. Digger |
