Welcome to LQ

Linux 5.1 doesn't exist.
Which distribution are you using? (ubuntu, suse, mint,...)

Kind regards

Welcome to LQ

I'd be inclined to re-install whatever Linux distribution you have recently installed as you shouldn't have much valuable data to lose if it's new.
Note that Server distributions tend not to have a desktop environment as they don't need one. Try installing a Desktop distro, probably quicker than trying to fix what you've got.

Again, we have no idea what you mean by "Linux 5.1". There is no such thing as "Linux 5.1". What you're probably referring to is a distro, in which case you'd need to specify the one you're using.

Have you tried issuing the startx command on your own and then seeing if a more verbose error message is generated? Sometimes that'll be enough to point you in the right direction. For example, I recently had a VM which was configured to automatically start X, and suddenly it wouldn't. The errors displayed during the event didn't provide much insight, and neither did a quick glance at the log file. When I did a manual startx, however, it became evident that the reason it wasn't loading was there was no space left on the drive, so the fix was obvious.
