X over network


Is there anyway I can connect to my local file-server in X over the network, using my screen, keyboard and mouse.

Haven't found anything on the net...
I am almost sure that it is possible, read it somewhere.

out of curiosity, can i use either of the programs to connect from a winblows machine (ya know those old school machines )

vnc has a nice free (as in beer and as in freedom) win32 client.

I don't know of any free X clients for windows.
x-win32 has a free demo

For X clients for windows you might have to install Cygwin...
