X hanging?
 

Hi guys,

I have just managed to install Debian Sarge in my Inspiron 2650 laptop. After some battle everything looks nice now but from time to time it hangs (just like a Windows box :confused: ?) I can point with the mouse but can't click the buttons on the bars, sometimes the icons disapear (sometimes don't), keyboard shortcuts stop working (sometimes don't) Usually re-start the X server (ctr+alt+del) uses to resolve the issue but I lost any unsaved change...

I dont know how to fix it nor even where can I find relevant information. Any help will be welcomed, Thanks!

Maybe there was an Error by the install of your OS because your problem really sounds like Windows
Maybe reinstall your OS our change Distribution(but that shouldn't be the best solution)

I also solve this problem with restarting X

This is something that pops in a terminal one the problems start to happen:

That Error is a Bug

That error message probably has nothing to do with the hang. We need more details, like how often the computer hangs, whether you use 3d acceleration, what do you do when it hangs etc.
