X freezes cursor on login
I have suse8.1 on a thinkpad T21.- have searched LQs but cannot find similar problem.
2 times out of 3 at the login screen - the mouse is frozen out. So I select reboot x (ALT F3) and it reboots in the twinkling of an eye - and hey presto I have my mouse again. Then, 1 time in about 3 it just gives me good mouse at login? Annoying but trivial - or a sign of something deeply troubling beneath the hood? Any ideas - listen - complete newbie to Linux, what logs/readouts would help me to help myself here? Paul |
Try altering the mouse model/protocol you're using. You might have to use the keyboard a bit to get to that screen, or do it on a time when the mouse works.

I tried changing my mouse settings using the gui YAST tool - the only one that works is the one I have set.
Anymore ideas anyone? Which logs would help me narrow this down? |
