X error!


i get this error after i enter startx


could not init font path element /usr/x11r6/lib/x11/fonts/cid/, removing from list!
directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
directory missing fonts.dir
incorrect font server address or syntax
startkde: Starting up...
startkde: running kpersonalizer...
/usr/X11R6/bin/iceauth: creating new authority file /root/.ICEauthority
QFont: :setPointSize: Point size <= 0 (-3)


what should i do... if it involves editing config files then I need detailed insturctions because im the linux Uber Newb...

Thats a line in the xorg.conf file that points to a directory that doesnt exist, and that shoudnt cause too much of a problem, just looks a little sloppy. does x start up ok?

no x fails


this error is above that

_XSERVTransSocketOpenCOTSServer: Unable to open socket for inet6
_XSERVTransOpen: transport open failed for inet6/ShaunLinux:0
_XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to open listener for inet6

look at /var/log/Xorg.log or /var/log/XFree86.0.log for errors then, unless there are more errors than you origionaly listed

as root, run xorgconfig and see if that doesn't help?
