X bug - unresolved symbol xf86Udelay

I'm trying to run Slackware 13.1, but X Window doesn't work - badly...
It is an unresolved symbol xf86Udelay in neomagic video driver.
Google tells me that it is know problem (523800 in RedHat, 592035 in Debian) and it has even been fixed last year.

But what can I do if I wouldn't like to compile X myself? Is it a way to get fixed binary for my neomagic video somewhere?

Hi and welcome to LQ,

You can compile just the driver:
Get the latest driver source from here and after extracting run:
Code:
./configure --prefix=/usr
make
su -
make install
Don't forget to make a backup of the 2 old driver files (neomagic_drv.so, neomagic_drv.la)

I don't have such a video card to test, but the driver compiles just fine in my Slack64. I had only to copy the 2 files from /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers to /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers. If you run a 32bit Slackware you don't need to do this.

Regards
