Question www user running screen as another user?

is this possible.

I am writing a php script to execute a shell script under another user where my game server is running. I figured this wouldn't work using sudo, so then tried to have the www user ssh in locally as the other user. When it tries to create the screen it gets a "Must be connected to a terminal." error spit back and doesn't create the screen. is there any way to have this work?

Can you use Group permission to accomplish this? If the www user is in the same group as the other user, www should be able to run the script. If that doesn't work, can I ask why you ruled out using su?

I wonder if whatever you're doing is necessary or even safe. I mean, I don't see why the www-user actually needs even more permissions than it already has. And why would the process need a TTY anyway? Maybe instead elaborate on what you are actually trying to accomplish?
