wvdialconf hangs up ,nokia 6070 ,rhe 9
 

Hi i am trying to connect internet using my nokia 6070 and usb data cable but when i use wvdialconf this program hangs up.
It shows only
ATQ0 V1 E0 -

But my modem works fine in windows xp.
My RHE linux version is 9
kernel version 2.4.20-8

Plzzzzzzzz help me.

Install RHEL5 or CentOS 5 or Fedora 8 or Ubuntu 7.10
i.e. distros with linux kernel version 2.6.18 and later.

here we go what linux distro. and we need to tell it it is a modem. when you plug in your cable to the computer I want you to open a terminal and as sudo or root type dmesg this will then tell you what you just plugged in to a usb plug. then we will a have to tell the system it is a modem and to do that we need to know if the modules (drivers ) are there and can be loaded then we need to edit the wvconf file . but if you just let me know the distro that would make things alot better . good luck. check this out.

then if you have trouble let me know I will help you configure your wvdila config or you pppd. ok. good luck that old are you using the kde desktop or the gnome need to know for dial pppd setup.that is a very old system to.
