Cool I'm a newbie but ...

I have an older HP laptop, I have the linksys usb300n wireless card which is very similar to what you have. All I did to was I downloaded and installed the Windows Wireless Driver utility. I then checked for my specific driver and it worked! It might have been the easy way to do it, but if you're looking for your system to be up on wireless quickly, this is one way to go about it.

Sorry it's been a bit... What all commands are you running before you run make?

I would've started a new thread for this question, but it all applies, I promise.

So I've gotten the dongle installed and connected to wifi (after finally installing all the dependencies, the problem went away).. But then I run into a little problem with ettercap.

I put my wusb54gc v.3 into monitor mode..
Code:
airmon-ng start wlan1
Code:
wlan1 Ralink RT2870/3070	rt2800usb - [phy1]
				[(monitor mode enabled on mon2)
but when I run ettercap.. and select mon2 for sniffing.. I receive this error.

"Interface 'mon2' not supported (802.11 plus radiotap header)"

Could it be that I have the wrong driver selected for the dongle to use?

Any suggestions? Thank you

-TR

This thread is quite old (October 2011). Maybe you'd like to start a new thread stating the problem you're having. From this old thread you know the information you'll need to supply.
ciao,
jdk

Yes. In fact, I solved the issue (look at the link).
That USB wifi modem is working out of the Bosch with lubuntu 12.10 (with networkmanager installed on the PC; WICD disturb the functionality so it should not be installed).
