wu-ftp help--passive?

I'm trying to get my wu-ftp server to work properly (just recently installed red hat 8.0) , version 2.6.2-8 which has some kind of bug which doesn't let passive users use the ftp.

I've searched high and low for help on how to enable passive mode on this version of wu but the best I could come up with was under the "quick fix" patch section of wu-ftpd.org which supposedly addresses this issue. The file is tp://ftp.wu-ftpd.org/pub/wu-ftpd/patches/apply_to_current/connect-dos.patch .

Here is my question. I've learned how to compile a basic package with make and ./configure, etc and anyone can run an rpm, but what the hell do I do with this file?

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. Anyone know if Red Hat still has the old commands linuxconf, mailconf, netconf, etc like I used to use in mandrake? They don't work when run at a command line like they used to.

Thanks

Why don't you just upgrade to the newest version of wu-ftp? Its much easier and safer. I say this because I have no idea what to do with a .patch file either. Maybe its executable:

./*.patch
