Wrong info in the emails I send out

Hi,

I'm currently using fetchmail->procmail->pine to read and send emails. However, a problem i'm facing is that my email address is being sent as user@blah.com (user being my linux user name) instead of xyz@blah.com. So when people try to reply, they send it to the wrong email adress... How do I fix it so that my outgoing emails have the proper email address?

Thanks

How does it knows the "blah.com" in the first place?
What distribution are you using? What mail transport agent are you using?

Atleast in exim/exim4 you can set email addresses systemwide to /etc/email-addresses file.
And in pine, you can set the From field to custom-hdrs setting in config. But be aware that you shouldn't use pine, because pine is evil (see mutt).

Erm, how do I set up a MTA...

I guess i'm a bit confused by MDA, MTA, MUA and pop3 and smtp servers... Do you mind explaining it to me?

I have already done so, in earlier thread.

How to set up MTA is somewhat distribution spesific (you might already have done the setup). What distribution are you using?
