Wrong display after installing GeForce GT 335M
Hello everybody
I bought a new laptop 2 months ago, with a GeForce GT 335M VGA and win 7 preinstalled. I installed in parallel Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit but face the following problem When I activate nvidia driver from the "hardware drivers" tab ( it gives me only one choice ,to install :version current" driver ), I get after restarting, my screed divided in 4 quadrants with something like a corridor in the middle ,each quadrant showing a tiny ubuntu log screen Only after uninstalling it or booting in graphics fail safe mode I get a normal screen again but then , google earth e.g runs slowly and complains that it works in open gl mode or something like that . May be its only that the VGA card is new and there is not yet a proper driver for it? Or should I try some changes in some configuration file? I have tried the advices from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Bi...erHowto/Nvidia but it didnt help . In win7, the card works fine but .... Please, any help would be very appreciable |
There is a driver...
The Nvidia site lists the card as supported by the latest driver(256.53). You can use the command "nvidia-settings" to change the configuration of the graphics card and screen, but the question is, will it help? Type the command "nvidia-settings -h" for command options. http://linux.die.net/man/1/nvidia-settings If you do not have the latest driver and want to install it, you can do so directly from Nvidia. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us The README has information on configuration that might help you. http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8...DME/index.html Four screen images at a time is not a fault I have ever read about. Interesting. |
