write permission in fat32 filesystem
i installed mandriva 2009 one. im not able to write in my fat32 windows drives. my /etc/fstab is like this
# Entry for /dev/sda10 : UUID=a6367531-e211-4abe-99a3-9c1fa9d5ed05 / ext3 defaults 1 1 none /proc proc defaults 0 0 # Entry for /dev/sda9 : UUID=82b42e14-cb4c-40cd-96ac-173cc4f5f95c swap swap defaults 0 0 # Entry for /dev/sda1 : UUID=003E-3C37 /media/hd vfat defaults 0 0 # Entry for /dev/sda5 : UUID=4C7013B37013A32E /media/hd2 ntfs-3g defaults 1 1 # Entry for /dev/sda6 : UUID=ECD86C2ED86BF56C /media/hd3 ntfs-3g defaults 1 1 # Entry for /dev/sda7 : UUID=763CF8B83CF87489 /media/hd4 ntfs-3g defaults 1 1 # Entry for /dev/sda8 : UUID=48CE-BC8B /media/hd5 vfat defaults 0 0 |
im not sure what the UUID leingh for fat32 drives is but they look a bit short, also if you make any modification to the partition (resising or reformating) the UUID changes
i would just replace the UUIDs with their /dev/sdaX string and se if that works. eg Code:
