write access for /mnt/floppy


just installed FC2 on an old pc and now i cant write to the floppy. says its a read only disk. i can go to properties and try to check the permissions/write box but i get the same error about its a read only disk.

tried command lin
root: chmod -R 777 /mnt/floppy

but got no help

any ideas

How about chmod 744 /dev/fd0

and edit your /etc/fstab

/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto "add user" --> user,noauto,owner 0 0

Post the permissions of /mnt/floppy.
Is the disk itself write protected?

try moving the little plastic thing on the floppy from "read only" to "read write".
