I've just installed ubuntu feisty fawn. I have a small problem though. When I switch to another workspace, the panel disappears. (Also, when I configure the workspace switcher to have only one workspace, it will have two and the panel will not disappear when I switch between them) Here's a picture of my desktop without a panel: http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/4904/screenshotsh8.png

I just realised that if I remove the desktop effect "workspaces on a cube" everything works fine. Still, doesn't anyone know a way to have "workspaces on a cube" with functioning workspaces?

I'm using SuSE and I think I'm having exactly the same problem. However, to add some insight... If you use the ctrl+alt+arrow keys you can use the cube and have multiple workspaces. However, I am having what seems to be the same problem you are- if you use the workspace switcher on the panel to change your workspace, then the panel does disappear.

Perhaps a more experienced user can provide a solution to this quagmire.
